Stoney Plains Alpacas

Welcome to Stoney Plains Alpacas. We have been raising alpacas since 2002, and enjoy the great plains of Saskatchewan with the pleasures of alpaca ranching. Alpaca ranching is a great adventure. We are Curtis and Valerie Janzen. We live on acreage of 80 acres in Hague Saskatchewan with our 3 girls. We tried some sheep, beef farming. It seemed to all be in vain, all the work and often nothing in return. We started to look for something that brought returns. We looked into alpacas and saw the benefits it had over other industries. Stoney Plains Alpacas was started in 2002. First we bought 1-bred dam and we went from there.

Breeding Traditions Passed On To You
Today we enjoy our thriving alpaca business, we have 20 dams, 12 sires and yearlings. We are proud to have purchased 1st (SUPER SAM) stud in West-Central Canada. It has been a wonderful experience breeding this gentle, sturdy livestock. We look forward to new additions to our herd this spring and summer.

At Stoney Plains we believe in good bloodlines and always look at how to improve them. We raise huacaya alpacas-for there superb genetics and disposition,good conformation,& superior fibre.
We love alpacas ,fun to work with, gentle,and produce great products We enjoy the friendships we have made and the help by other alpaca farmers and want to return the favour to others.
